FAMILY LEGACY

ABOUT

Mr. Ray Wilkinson

A Legacy in Metal Recycling Since 1930

Welcome to Wilkinson Ray Iron & Metal, Inc., a pioneer in South Texas recycling. As a family-owned and operated company, we specialize in trading both ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals with a deep commitment to integrity, service, and community.

Our recycling tradition began with the late Sheffield Wilkinson and was carried forward by the Wilkinson Brothers, Westbrook C. Wilkinson and Hubert Wilkinson. Today, nearly a century later, the fifth generation proudly continues that legacy—serving the public with the same values and dedication to quality.

What We Recycle and Why It Matters

At Wilkinson Ray Iron & Metal, we contribute to a sustainable future by transforming end-of-life items such as industrial machinery, vehicles, railroad cars, ships, and building structures into valuable raw materials for manufacturing. Each commodity is processed to meet strict specifications before shipment to domestic or international smelters and refineries.

We proudly recycle aluminum (including aluminum cans), brass, copper, lead, motors, stainless steel, radiators, zinc, and iron. Our pricing reflects current market value to ensure fairness for all customers.

Westbrook “Chula” Wilkinson and Herbert S. Wilkinson followed in their father’s footsteps and founded Wilkinson Brothers Iron & Metal. Today, three members of the family proudly continue that legacy.

RECYCLING MAKES CENTS!

Our mission is simple: preserve natural resources, protect the environment, and create jobs—one piece of scrap at a time.

At Wilkinson Ray Iron & Metal, we believe that every piece of scrap has value—not just in dollars and cents, but in its potential to make a difference. By recycling metals, we help reduce the demand for raw mining, lower energy consumption, and minimize the environmental footprint of industrial production.

Since the early 1930’s

For nearly a century of family tradition, Wilkinson Ray Iron & Metal has proudly served the people and industries of the Rio Grande Valley with honesty, responsibility, and deep respect for our community.

Founded on strong family values and a passion for hard work, our mission goes beyond recycling—we’re here to build trust, promote sustainability, and support the economic well-being of our region.

We take pride in being more than a recycling yard. We are neighbors, partners, and stewards of the land we share. Every transaction reflects our commitment to fairness, environmental responsibility, and the long-standing relationships we’ve built across generations.

Serving the Valley isn’t just our business—it’s our legacy.
